From Father to Father – We're all better off outside

Von Vater zu Vater – Draussen geht’s uns allen besser

Interview with Pascal Uffer, Founder of Boost inc and Bivio Rösterei. Written by Melanie Gath.

He's a founder through and through. Developing new things, creating something from scratch – that seems to be his lifeblood. This shared passion is likely one of the reasons why namuk founder Franz Bittmann and Pascal Uffer met for this conversation, for this “From Father to Father" interview format.

They are sitting amidst shelves in the rooms of one of his passion projects, the Bivio coffee roastery. It’s the highest roastery in Europe, at 1769 m. On their website, the team describes how at this location between Chur and St. Moritz, "a fearless team of coffee and Bivio lovers roasts fresh coffee for pioneers, adventurers, and T-bar lift riders." That's just one of the three companies he has founded. In addition to an outdoor label that Pascal launched with his wife, he is also the co-founder and CEO of Boost inc.

You can feel that a true adventurer's heart lives in Pascal at every moment of this conversation. When asked about his main roles in the family, he says, among other things: "I make sure they don't grow up too fast." It's important to him to teach his children to not take life too seriously and to try new things. Being outside and active is important to him, for himself and his family. He says it's simple: "Everyone is better off when we are outside."

In the interview, he describes himself as rather chaotic or even as "the third child in the house." It feels like he's letting Franz take a deep look into his life as a dad. Learn more about Pascal's attitude towards life in the video:
